The Tooth Fairy was in our Neighborhood

Kelsey has had another loose tooth for a little while. Yesterday after school she told me that it hurt when she ate because it wiggled so much.
So last night right before bed she told her dad how loose it was and that he needed to feel it. Big Mistake! Matt said "Should we get it out tonight?" with that excited-fun-dad-look on his face. Kelsey was so very excited for the tooth fairy to come again so she agreed.
I grabbed her and took her in the other room pretending to cry and saying "No no, my little Kelsey is growing up if she looses another tooth." Kelsey loves it when I do this. Make a big fuss about her getting older, growing up, and not being mom's little girl anymore. So as I was holding her tight and pretending to cry, she was laughing, grabbed my face and then very seriously said "Mom, it is okay. Everyone has to grow up. I will still be your sweet Kelsey forever even though I loose teeth and get older." It was so cute.
So Matt proceeded the operation and got some dental floss. I said "Are you going to tie a knot around that tooth and yank it out like they do in cartoons?" Kelsey was loving it. He didn't tie a knot, just slipped it underneath and that tooth went flying across my bed. It happened so much quicker than I remember . I swear it took some massive encouragement to let my dad look in my mouth, let alone stick a string in there and pop out my teeth! Maybe I was much more dramatic. Come to think of it, that is not possible, Kelsey is ULTRA dramatic, I could not have been worse than her!
So here she is, she didn't want me to post the picture that shows blood on her lip, but the expression on her face is so cute!

She just woke up and informed me that the tooth fairy had really visited her last night again! I asked her if she heard the tooth fairy in the night and she said no. Thank goodness!

No, I don't think it is possible for anyone to be more dramatic than your little girl, but....if I remember right there is a school picture (either first or second grade) that you have a loose tooth flopping there, hanging by a root in your cute little smile!

Bekah has yet to loose any teeth, but maybe Matt could help us with Weston. He never lets any one even touch his teeth if they are loose. He's lost at least 4 teeth and the tooth fairy has only come once. Do you save their baby teeth or just throw them out?

What does the tooth fairy bring these days anyway? I am so dreading that part of life. I love the look on Kelseys face but hate the blood running out of her mouth!!!!! She is so excited! I can't believe ... sobbing... she is growing up so fast.

So I'm curious too as to what the tooth fair brings. We were watching a show the other night and the little boy had gotten $20 for his molar!!! I'm I a tight wad or is that normal?

I'm glad you put on Kelsey's bloody pic. because my first thought was, 'WOW! I can't believe she's smiling that big. It's obviously right after the deed had been done. OUCCCCHHHH! Way to be brave Kelsey!!!! If your dad came after me with dental floss I'd run like the wind!

I can't believe that you have a kid old enough to have the tooth fairy come. Wow! We just keep getting older! Tell Kelsey I think that she is very brave! Way to go!

Joe was smiling as he read about Matt's delight in "pulling" Kelsey's tooth. I know he can't wait until Addison has a loose tooth. But first, she'll need to get her teeth :)

The tooth fairy that visits our house has left 4 quarters each visit. I hear that is quite a generous tooth fairy, but what is a buck?? I don't remember what I used to get, but inflation has occured since 1980!
