We, Amanda and I, set up a military section with some of her dad's uniforms. There were no Union represented, just the good ol' Rebels! Maybe next year! We had a few sabers, a musket, cartridge boxes, canteens, and the whole nine yards.
We had a section for the kids' clothing we have made for our children. We printed up some little information papers that we pinned to each garment to explain that piece. We also pinned some pictures of the garment on us, our kids, or the military guys. It was nice for the public to see how they look and fit on a body.
The ladies section was set for tea and quilting. the dresses are ones that Amanda and I have made. The gorgeous reproduction quilt in the background was made by my friend Deonn. It added that special touch! The ladies that volunteer and sit in the room said that there were so many comments and compliments about our display. That makes me happy, because it took Amanda and I 2 1/2 days to set it up and some VERY patient children!
