Yesterday Emmitt asked me to lift him up to look out the laundry room window. Our neighbors across the street fly an American flag everyday and he told me he wanted to see it. So I obliged. He disappeared and I didn't think anything about it.
He had helped me decorate our little seasonal decoration area for the 4th of July a few weeks ago and seemed to enjoy it very much since it didn't involved flowers like our spring, Easter, and other recent decorations.
So last night I saw this on our front porch. It made me smile then it brought tears to my eyes. I love that in his 5 years of life experiences, he has a love for something that I love as well.
