Emmitt likes the sound the cans make as he drags them up and down the sidewalk and driveway. The noise must be pure joy to him because he did it for 2 hours straight Sunday afternoon. Nice peaceful Sunday, not really! He and Kendal did it again yesterday for awhile as I worked outside shoveling new beautiful bark into my yard. It looks fabulous and my back is a little sore, but it is all worth it. Emmitt is a pro at re-purposing toys and this is the noisiest change to date.
Our busy life with an amazing veterinarian and cattleman, a gardening, quilting and history loving wife and mother, a creative perfectionist violinist, a spunky and kind epileptic princess, a sweet yet wild little man, and the most mellow and happy babe, on a joyful 1/2 acre living and loving in a beautiful mountain valley.

repurposing
The thing to do at our house is play with the homemade stilts made from rope and empty #10 cans from the cannery. Kendal got them out to play with and she did a great job of walking down the somewhat steep driveway on the stilts. Then Emmitt discovered the stilts and they may never be used as such again.
