FIRE

This picture is for Mindy.
Here is my FIRE Design Challenge quilt. The theme for our quilt guild's design challenge this year was ELEMENTS - water, air, fire, earth. In January we all picked which element we would make our quilt around and I was so praying for EARTH but I got FIRE. I am so not a red, orange, yellow person! I am not a FIRE color person. I am earthy, even ask my sister (she once described me as 'earthy' and I will never let her forget it) but, that is why it is called a CHALLENGE.
Anyway, every month we got new instructions for our little wall hangings. There was a size limit, applique needed to be added, bead embellishment was also a requirement. This is what I ended up with. I am not sure what in the world I am going to do with it, but it is finished.

I love the family reunion idea if your really not into it. OR I could show up one weekend and paint your bedroom red, then you would have to use it because it would be the only matching thing you could hang on your wall! I wish I could catch your creative and crafty bug you have going on. I would have my walls painted in quilts!

P.S. Thanks for the letter and packages for the girls. They were so excited to get mail. Aly is still trying to figure out what to do with her self, she is sooo board! The stickers really helped.

Last time you posted about this I left a comment but I don't think it worked and it didn't really post it.
ANYWAY, I said you should have done a 'fire' block with fire fighter material. Some nice bright yellow, and Nomex would make a super cute quilt!

Jenn,
It truly crossed my mind! A friend who is a fire fighter emailed me about the exact thing!
