I know you have an eye for color

I need a tad bit of advice. This is one of my Block of the Month quilts that we have been working on for Enrichment. It is time for me to go purchase the sashing fabric (the little strips that go in between the blocks) and I am not sure what color to buy. Let me know what you think.

This one below is the original pattern and it has you put a lighter blue in between the blocks as the sashing and also as a border. Since I traded yellow for brown in my quilt, I don't think light blue is going to work for me. Tell me what color would look good. I plan on following the pattern for the borders, but just in my colors instead of the bright ones shown here.

I really do need your help. I need to go fabric shopping next week!

My opinion is to go with a red or blue. I think it would make it pop. They are your strongest colores in the blocks. You are one awesome quilter. I love the designs you do with the quilts. Love ya Nikki

I will have to see it in person, but I think a cream border with a dark brown or dark blue.

First thought:
red sashing
green inner border
brown accent border
cream & red sawtooth border.

Honestly, the cutting, piecing, and quilting take a whole lot less time than the fabric choosing. I am excited to see the end result next week!

I agree...go red.

I can't decide,, I am thinking either red or brown,,,,,red would make it bold, and the brown would be more earthy. I dunno its a hard decision.
Good luck, and let us know what ya decide.

Hot Pink, you should go with Hot Pink for sure. (Sorry, had to give you something besides red, brown, or blue to choose from :)

My official vote is a green that is a shade darker than the one you have to keep it earthy. Rachel & red just doesn't seem right....

I say a dark blue. Even though the more I think of it green sounds good too. Easy solution...may not "match" though. 1- Let the girls loose in the store 2-Whatever fabric they touch first is the one you use lol :) Okay so it may not work but then you wouldn't have to pick a color :)

Ok, I have been thinking about this.... I totally agree with Debbie--Red and Rachel don't really mix.
First off, I LOVE that you changed the colors from the original. Soooo much better.
I think the sashing should be either a tannish/beige/lighter brown color than the other brown, or maybe a green-can't decide if you should do lighter or darker than the other--but I am leaning towards lighter--but definately no brighter. Do I even make sense?
You gotta go with an earth tone on this one.
BTW- you totally amaze me!!

I'm not a quilter, but I say chocolate brown...earthy and warm.
