Only in Utah

I listen to Heber's very own radio station, KTMP on 1340 am. I love it. It plays real music. I was listening to it the other day and heard a commercial for the upcoming Cowboy Poetry event and just laughed. I heard it again today and thought I would share it with you.
This is Baxter Black, and for those of you who don't know him, he is a VERY famous cowboy poet. He used to be a veterinarian so he has some great stories and poems about doing C-sections on old cows in the middle of a snow storm. Hey, come to think of it, Matt has done that too, but he didn't write a song or poem about it so we are NOT billionaires. Darn it! Anyway, Baxter Black is the one that does the commercial on the radio. Here is a tidbit of it "Now remember, this is a family affair, so bring your grandma, grandpa, Uncle Nephi, and all those children to the Heber City Cowboy Poetry and Buckaroo Fair, just leave your dogs in the pickup." So the funny part I love about this is Uncle Nephi. That just totally cracks me up. After living out of state for a while, and hearing other people talk about the mormons and how all of our towns are named after dead prophets, and we have quite original names sometimes for our children, it just makes me laugh. Only in Utah!

This is the Bar J Wranglers. I LOVE the Bar Js, when I say love, I really don't mean it, there is another word to describe it, but it hasn't been made up yet. I would love to have them downloaded on my blog for us all to listen to, but the place I download from has no idea who the Bar J Wranglers are. It really is to bad. The Bar Js are coming to Heber next week, and Matt wants to leave town! Oh, I wish I could express my utter adoration in real words for you all.

I have been a couple times to the Bar J's here and once in Jackson. My mother in law looks at Bryan from the Bar J's like your father looks on the sweet Cajun hair dresser and I look upon Sean Connery with that awesome voice. We should all go to Jackson in the summer. I like it better there than at the highschool auditorium.
PS I love our neighbors Nephi, Hyrum, Brigham, etc...

Oh, the love for the Bar J's!
Jen-I am just like your mother-in-law--Bryan is yummy! Have you ever checked out his butt?! Whoa! Rachel wanted me to date him when I was single so she could google at him, too bad he's old enough to be my dad!! Love the Bar J's! I am so excited to see them-Jared never has.

I love the Bar J Wranglers too! My favorite part of Cowboy poetry is the opening dinner and a show on Tuesday night and cowboy church on sunday. The Bar J Wranglers are abig hit there. My kids even love it!

Oh my goodness, my sister Tori and I are completely madly in love with Bryan, the doghouse bass player. He is our favorite. Massive infatuation, massive.

I seem to recall a cowboy that Belinda or someone knew that would come over to the apartment. I can't remember his name, but I think he used to recite cowboy poetry. I have to admit, that is the most exposed I have been to it and it wasn't that thrilling for me!

Krista, are you talking about Schmitty?

Totally thinking of him. Thanks for the reminder of the name.

I love Schmitty. Last I heard he was a pig farmer in Milford. He isn't a kagillionaire either!
