So long Malibu!

2 weeks ago I wrecked my car.  My insurance company decided the other day that it was 'a total loss.'  So I had to go to the auto shop and clean out the sweet Malibu.  I took off the license plates and took a picture of my bizarreness.  I have done this on every car I have owned - when I register the car every year with the county, and they give me a colorful little sticker to put on my plate to mark the year, and I always add it in a rainbow.
We bought this car in 2002, so that first sticker was green.  You can barely see it.  Then all the consecutive years' stickers  are on top of each other, with just a little colorful sliver showing.  Weird, I know.  So, I am saying goodbye to 11 years of colorful stickers.  Wish me luck on finding a replacement for the Malibu, so I get to start another rainbow.

What I will miss the most:
Your safety pin on the dash board...just in case you need it along with all your important papers you stored up there so you wouldn’t forget to bring them in. That dash board was the official holder for a month or so for the Heber event posters. The mirror on the passenger side visor, it was good to me...I used it a lot when I was nervous about going somewhere. The cup holders that held our slim fast when we were deticated for two weeks at a time. Pumpkin seeds under the seat that I spilt driving back from Steve's house in PC, I am sure a few are still there. The trunk that held all the sewing machines for relief society sewing night years ago on Tuesdays. The back seat that could magically hold all of our civil war stuff for a day (no room for kids) and so perfectly fit that ugly useless wooden table in from Camp Floyd our first year (thanks to Steve’s help), and on that note what I will miss the most is that middle arm console that was never attached, but just sat there. You never knew when it was going to shift and just fall off. I swear every time I got in I would forget that it was broken and lift it back up and put it back in place. Good Bye Malibu. You’re not just a car, you’re my friend.

Amanda, I have recovered from my laughing spell. Oh my goodness, thanks for the tears rolling down my cheeks, the wet spotted unders, and the horrible coughing/hacking attack from laughing way way way too hard. Did I mention I fell off the chair, honestly?? Anyway, thanks for your sweet farewell to the Malibu!
Emiko, things will be interesting car shopping again!

I sympathize for your loss. I cried when my Green Saturn SL2 died. Her name was Dryad. I name all my cars. My current Kia Rio is Pop Can. I love the rainbow sticker idea. I may have to start doing that. I am a staunch supporter of all things rainbow. Its just prettier that way. My clothes closet is organized by rainbow. Going to look for a car that can hold even more stuff? Have fun car shopping.
