My sweet friend Sarah posted a poem on her blog today, and a few lines really stuck out to me. So since this is my blog, I am going to share those lines with you.
Accept your defeats with the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
(that is my adorable mom when she was little showing off a new dress her mother had just made her)
After a while, you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
(my son and my nephew last summer soaking up a few rays after running through the sprinkler)
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
(my garden with irises from my grandma's garden)
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong and you really do have worth.
And you learn.
And learn...
With every goodbye, you learn.
Now on to happier thoughts - IT IS QUILT GUILD TONIGHT! YIPPEE! This is my favorite night of the month. I found this cute quilt pattern on Moda Bake Shop yesterday and I think it is darling. I might be making it soon, when a few other projects are finished up. But then, there is always this one:
I adore this quilt. It is owned by Sandra Starley and is an original from the mid 1800s. I just love it. Maybe this is the one I will be making. Not sure. Either way, tonight is a glorious night and I am excited to see my quilting lady friends and enjoy a night of inspiration!

Nice thoughts.
Just was catching up on your little family. So excited for you all to have another little girl. I can't believe how big all of your kids are, esp. Emmitt!! Will he be 3 already this year? Hope the next months treat ya well as you wait for the little one. We hope to visit Utah this Summer, and we'll definitely make a stop in Heber!
