Early last week Kelsey's teacher sent home in her backpack a certificate, a magnet, and a picture of Kelsey that said she was the student of the month. I wasn't too sure what that all
entailed, but I knew it was a good thing, so yeah for Kelsey! We put the magnet on the fridge and told Matt the news. He was so excited he made Kelsey call her 2 grandmas and tell them her big news. Then we sort of forgot about it. I got an email from a friend here in town that said she saw Kelsey in the newspaper (it comes out on Wednesdays only) and to tell her good job. So finally on Saturday I went and bought a newspaper. Actually I bought 2, you know, one for the scrapbook and one for
posterity sake!
So when we got home, I searched the paper for Kelsey and could not find her. I finally got to the school news section and saw a group photo of the students of the month. Kelsey was NOT in the picture! Her name was listed, but no picture. They took the picture during the 1/2 of the day that she is not there, darn it! So, I have 2 newspapers full of voting information, full page ads for and against
Walmart, and tons of city council runners' faces. By the way, we get to decide the Big Box fate in
Heber City on Tuesday!!
So here is a horrible picture of our fridge since I couldn't share the newspaper picture with you. It is funny how many people have read the paper and told Kelsey "I saw you made student of the month, good job." She just beams, she loves praise!

Yay Kelsey! That's so exciting for her. What a bummer that she wasn't in the picture, but at least the paper mentioned her name!
Good luck on the WalMart issue. I'm very curious on how the voucher issue is going to take shape. Mostly, I'm excited to have all the commercials and fliers go away!

Hey, since she didn't make the paper, you can go to the school and in the award box across from the office Kelsey's picture will be in there for student of the month. Check it out! Way to Go Kelsey!,and only the 3rd full month of school you must have made a big impression on your teacher. You must be a great helper, and very smart!
Kelsey, We think you are student of the Year! We love to have you around as a good influence on my boys. Congratulations! Keep up the good work... I think you deserve a polly pocket or maybe a trip to CHUCK E CHEESE for that.... HEE HEE HEE
