What would you do if your kids magically disappeared for the day?

Kendal saw her painting masterpiece the other day and wanted to paint again. This is the painting she did when occupational therapist was here. You know, when she used my fabric scissors to cut that paper! I still get miffed about that if I think about it too much. She was supposed to come Friday for an appointment but for some reason stood us up.

Here she is painting a new one. It didn't last too long this time around because she started throwing the paint at her sister.
Here is Kelsey's painting, she did well considering she had to dodge paint.

Yesterday something strange happened. Matt went to Salina early in the morning and he took both girls with him. I was left home alone for the entire day! I was a little worried about Kendal and her cast at the farm, but Matt said she did great and he promised there were no hay leaves or manure in her cast. She sat on the 4 wheeler all day while they moved pipe into the fields. She loved it. Matt loved spending the day with his little farmer girls and I loved spending the day alone. I went to see my sister who is having a baby any week now, I spent 2 1/2 hours at JoAnn's fabrics in Provo, then I did a couple hours of yard work, I went to Smiths, and then I put a movie in, a complete and total chick flick. It was a super day for everyone.

About 2 minutes after Matt got home last night, the crew came over. That would mean Derek and his friends. They had been waiting for Matt to get home so they could come and show him more pictures of the sheds they had found. I thought it was so funny, all of these teenager shoes at my house. I didn't think they would like it if I took a picture of all of them spread across my living room, so the shoes had to do. They all talked and watched part of a Mossback video. They are good kids. I think.

I would be in heaven if my kids disappered for a day. I could maybe even handle two days. I found a little fabric store in Lehi that has reproduced civil war material. I might head down WED.16 to check it out wanna go?

Oh my goodness! I wouldn't know what to do without the two girls. I hope you enjoyed your much needed break!
I'm curious as to what store it is in Lehi? I know that there are a couple of cute quilting stores there. And if you do come to Lehi you better give me a call! I would love to see you!

Hey Rachel,
great fun for you. Just wanted to say we are going to have an exhibt hall for our family reunion carnival like a state fair. and all entries will be judged before the raffel. there is going to be childrens catagory it would be nice to see the kids paintings entered. We hope every child brings something home made to raffel to another child. Any ideas on who we can get to do the face painting booth for the kids. I bought the crayon paints washable. Do you think those tatoos that wash off the kids would like also. Ok just trying to plan. Its nice to keep up with the family through your blog. Keep up the good work and I admire what a trooper you are. I dont have that kind of energy. Love Kaye Valdes

Kaye, that sounds so fun!
What a good brain you have got going there!
That is a cute idea to do homemade little things. Kelsey will be all over that!
I hope all goes well with your planning. I am trying to think of who the artist is, oh my gosh, Nikki's husband Rod and actually Nikki is quite artistic too - for the face painting. What a fun idea. Most kids love the tattooes. Well, so does my mom and sister come to think of it!
